in questo periodo la sorte mi ha portato a lavorare come guitar tech in tour con musicisti che appartengono di diritto all’olimpo delle sei corde l’ultimo con cui ho collaborato è nientemeno che Mr Greg Howe!
dopo un paio di date del tour lamenta di non trovare con lo strumento il feel a cui è abituato, dando un occhiata capisco che il problema è l’usura dei fret che li ha esageratamente appiattiti sulla sommità, il che causa una serie di note sorde e buzzing perche la corda non trova più un solo punto di appoggio ma una superficie piatta. questa la diagnosi

confesso che l’idea di intervenire con lime e attrezzi vari sullo strumento di qualcuno che è di diritto nei libri di storia della chitarra moderna incute un po di timore, ma con un paio di lime adatte e una mezz’oretta di tempo abbiamo risolto il problema, per la gioia di Mr Greg che ha ritrovato tutto il suo feel con lo strumento!

I confess that the idea of intervening with files and various tools on the instrument of someone who is right in the history books of modern guitar inspires a bit of fear, but with a couple of suitable files and a half hour of time we have solved theproblem, for the joy of Mr. Greg who has found all his feeling with the instrument!
